Art...and a bit of philosophy.

Gallery: Figure Drawings

When I first came back to art big time ten years ago, I began with the Thursday Night Drawing Group in Santa Rosa, CA. Wonderful beginning, and I’ve never left. I do a lot of life drawing. Most of what I show here comes out of those sessions, though I may go back into a piece in my studio to work it further. A few are of family members or are street sketches.

Mediums used vary enormously, from pencil and other forms of graphite through inks and charcoal, to watercolors and pastels – and sometimes all of the above! Scenes, moods, and stories hinted at in the content vary as widely as the materials used – even though every drawing is of just one person in a very simple setting (with one exception). Two of the drawings are at Quicksilver gallery in Forestville (see links): "Nude" and "Olympia." Clicking can enlarge small images.
